Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Civil Project Engineer.

DHA is seeking a motivated and proactive civil engineer to join our dynamic team at our growing Largo, Maryland office. You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in the intricate technical and logistical aspects by working on land development projects in Central Maryland. In return, DHA will equip you with the resources needed for a thriving career in civil engineering.

SALARY RANGE
$45 to $55 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering design documents including plans, reports and cost estimates for processing in the requisite jurisdiction;
  • Assist in the preparation of shared exhibits for the client and other design team members;
  • Develop and possess an understanding of the jurisdictional design standards and codes;
  • Prepare Drainage Area Maps and Hydrology analysis;
  • Assist in the preparation of design development plans including site layouts, grading, sediment & erosion control, roadways and utility plans;
  • Assist in the preparation of material quantities;
  • Assist int he design of storm drainage systems and stormwater management facilities; and
  • Assist in the design document revisions required by the review agencies.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
  • Five (5+) years of experience in site/civil land development design;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Maryland or the ability to obtain a license within six months of employment;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment;
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other industry design software;
  • Proficient in technical writing and verbal communication; and
  • Experience in Prince Georges County is preferred.

Working Conditions
This position is full-time in office. Supervisor will determine remote work day opportunities.
