DHA is currently seeking a Controller to manage accounting, maintain records, and prepare reports. This role includes overseeing general, project, and cost accounting, ensuring compliance, supporting audits, and leading a skilled team to drive financial excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance of accounts, ensuring proper recording of transactions and assets.
  • Oversee month-end closing, reviewing journal entries and accruals for GAAP compliance.
  • Assist CFO with annual audits and DCAA Incurred Cost Submissions, preparing schedules and analysis for external auditors.
  • Manage project accounting in BST system, ensuring accurate billing and cost tracking for ~100 clients.
  • Oversee invoicing, collections, and contract management to ensure timely payment.
  • Maintain monthly fixed asset accounting and reporting.
  • Collaborate with CFO on operating budgets and Indirect Overhead Rates.
  • Support tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely filing of federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Manage accounts payable and payroll.
  • Develop and implement new accounting policies to improve efficiency.
  • Mentor and train accounting staff, providing evaluations and fostering development.
  • Handle special projects as assigned by the CFO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Government Contracting Accounting or Finance.
  • Expertise in DCAA Incurred Cost Submissions (ICE) and Indirect Overhead Rate preparation.
  • Experience with BST Global, Deltek Costpoint, or similar accounting systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and communicate accounting matters effectively.
  • Proven experience in managing, mentoring, and cross-training accounting teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a general office environment, 100% of the time.
