DHA seeks a Safety Representative to lead safety efforts on construction sites, including policy development, inspections, training, PPE compliance, incident investigation, and emergency planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce safety policies to promote a culture of health and safety
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance and identify hazards
  • Provide training and presentations on safety practices and accident prevention
  • Monitor worker compliance with safety regulations and PPE usage
  • Investigate accidents to determine causes and manage workers’ compensation claims
  • Assess risks in practices, procedures, and facilities for legal compliance
  • Prepare incident reports and provide statistical data to management
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar construction-related safety role
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale construction projects
  • Knowledge of local and federal safety regulations
  • Proficiency in safety management software

Working Conditions

  • Work takes place on construction sites
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and potential physical hazards
