Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered (DHA) is seeking a Water/Wastewater Assistant Engineer with pipeline experience for a program management contract.

SALARY RANGE
$35.00 to $55.00 per hour


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support to project managers and project engineers in all phases of project planning, including permit planning and design development;
  • Prepare detailed Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) to ensure accurate and competitive procurement processes;
  • Assist in the review and evaluation of design and construction submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards;
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and ensure project objectives are met; and
  • Support the successful coordination and execution of multiple tasks within the project lifecycle, maintaining timelines and ensuring quality outcomes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is required;
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in civil infrastructure projects;
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Washington, DC, or the ability to obtain one within two years;
  • Experience working on pipeline projects, with a strong understanding of related principles and practices;
  • Familiarity with DC Water design standards is preferred; and
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office programs is preferred.


Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment about 80% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work is required about 20% of the time where work may be conducted outside in one or more of the following conditions: heat or cold, wet or humid, and dry or arid. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed. Assignment is five days per week in client's office in Washington, DC.
